As a musician I have always refrained from criticizing another artist. I was, ‘well, good for her.’ It did bug me a little bit, however, when she said she came up with the idea for the title in a dream. In truth, she wrote it with a team of professional writers and was signed by the very same guy that signed me in 1995. I have not mentioned that in interviews as I don’t want to sound bitter or petty… cause, that’s not me.

Okay, maybe, if I really think about it, there were a few jealous and pissed off moments. So here goes, for the first time in an interview: Fuck you Katy Perry, you fucking stupid, maybe ‘not good for the gays,’ title thieving, haven’t heard much else, so not quite sure if you’re talented, fucking little slut.

God that felt good.

Mean Magazine has started a new web series of online short films called CineMash, where celebrities reenact their favorite scenes from classic films. In past there was Sid and Nancy starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. which was of course directed by Marc Webb . The most recent installment features Charlene Yi and Channing Tatum doing Dirty Dancing. It was directed by Paperheart’s Nicholas Jasenovec. It’s some pretty funny/awkward stuff.

Can’t Stand It - Telepathe

When I stumbled upon this album months ago I pretty much enjoyed it from the start but this particular track is my absolute favorite. I can’t really put words on the sound but it does have a slight girl group/doo wop feel to it in a weird way. They are at All Points this year but I believe their sound is definitely more suitable for a more intimate venue.

Trailer - A Serious Man

Directed by the Coen Brothers. The cast is relatively unknown actors with exception of Richard Kind. I am really like the audio that accompanies this trailer. It’s basically a smash of different sounds in the trailer a sort of build up which is probably an indication of what is going on in the movie.

I saw this a few weeks ago courtesy of my bud Alicia. I posted the trailer here a while because I was slightly interested and because I have a tiny crush I Hugh Dancy( it was worse a few years ago). Now, the film was not entirely original but it was still a sweet and touching story about being able to rely on yourself for your happiness and how two different people were able to open and teach each other. While I did see it for free if you need a movie to see and can spare 12 bucks you might enjoy it.

Silver Trembling Hands - The Flaming Lips

From the forthcoming double LP, Embryonic

I am really digging this track especially the chorus. There is a sort of urgency and then it breaks into a really summer-y tune and back again. I love it because it’s one those song where the verse and the chorus don’t match but makes you look forward to chorus that much more.

True Blood : Jessica & Hoyt

I might be the only one who is interested in this story line.

Also: I am over Maryann. Why is she there? What does she want? I am feeling sad for Lafayette but PTSD I need his sass. Not sure what Eric’s motives but is definitely growing on me but I must say that I am getting a little tired of Bill and Sookie. Everyone else’s storyline is way more interesting. Looking forward to what the rest of the season will bring.
